| Home > Power Management Modes on the ARM11 Processors > Standby Mode | |||
This mode disables most of the clocks of the device, while
keeping the device powered up. This reduces the power drawn to the
static leakage current, plus a tiny clock power overhead required
to enable the device to wake up from Standby Mode. The user requests
entry into Standby Mode through the execution of a Wait For
Interrupt instruction and the ARM11 processor signals it
is in Standby Mode by asserting the STANDBYWFI signal.
The transition from Standby Mode to Run Mode is caused by one of
the following:
an interrupt (nIRQ) or fast interrupt (nFIQ), whether masked or unmasked
an external debug request (EDBGRQ), regardless of whether debug is enabled
assertion of Reset.
