2.1. Before installing the eXDI2RVI driver

The eXDI2RVI driver supplied is intended for use with either Platform Builder for Windows CE or Platform Builder for Windows Embedded CE, and ARM RealView ICE. Before setting up the eXDI2RVI driver, both these applications must be installed. The eXDI2RVI driver requires the correct versions of certain system DLLs to be present on your PC, and installing Platform Builder ensures that these are present. If the correct versions are not present, you will not be able to run the eXDI2RVI driver. Please consult the Readme file supplied for the latest information on the compatible versions and patches required to Platform Builder to enable the eXDI2RVI driver to run correctly.

Follow these steps to verify that RealView ICE is set up correctly:

  1. Set up the target hardware.

  2. Connect the RealView ICE hardware to the target hardware and to the Windows Workstation.

  3. Start RealView ICE, and configure this as appropriate using the RealView ICE configuration dialog (RVConfig). The RVConfig should report the connection to the target system, and identify the processor to which it is connected.

For details on how to use RealView ICE, you should refer to the RealView ICE and RealView Trace User Guide.
