ADS 1.2 is license-managed using FLEXlm license management software. The ADS installation procedure prompts you to enter the license management number printed on a label on the ADS box. If you do this correctly. the procedure creates a temporary license file, allowing you to use ADS for a limited period during which you can obtain a permanent license file from ARM Limited.
If you install ADS 1.2 in a Windows environment the ARM License Wizard is displayed towards the end of the installation, as shown in see Figure 1.1.
The ARM License Wizard helps you to:
install a temporary license
apply for a permanent node-locked license
install your permanent (node-locked or floating) license when you receive it.
Click the Next button to display the screen shown in Figure 1.2.
You can run the ARM License Wizard to help with your ADS license management at any time after you have installed ADS 1.2 by selecting Start ? Programs ? ARM Developer Suite v1.2 ? ARM License Wizard.
The ARM License Wizard is not available if you install ADS 1.2 in a UNIX or Linux environment. For details of license management under UNIX or Linux, refer to ADS 1.2 with UNIX or Linux.
