If you install additional software components after you have used RealView Debugger, for example, RealView ICE software, then the next time you start RealView Debugger it prompts you to update the settings files.
You must have read and write access to the rvdebug.brd file
in the directory,
otherwise the update fails. This is especially important on Red
Hat Linux and Sun Solaris, where installations have been done by
root, which is not recommended.install_directory\RVD\Core\...\etc
