To set a watch by copying and pasting:
Select View → Watch from the Code window main menu to open the Watch view.
Either:
copy a variable from the Locals view
copy a variable or expression from your source code.
Click on the background in the Watch view.
Press Ctrl+V to paste the variable or expression into the Watch view.
