4.6.2. PrimeCell MMCI functional
overview
The PrimeCell MultiMedia Card Interface (MMCI)
is an APB peripheral that provides an interface between the MMC
and the APB. This section provides a brief overview of the MMCI.

Figure 4.16 shows
a simplified block diagram of the PrimeCell MMCI.
The PrimeCell MMCI provides an interface between the APB and
a multimedia card. It consists of two parts:
The PrimeCell MMCI adapter block. This provides the functions
specific to the multimedia card. This includes clock generation,
power management, and command and data transfer.
The APB interface accesses the PrimeCell MMCI adapter
registers, and generates interrupt request signals.
