5.5.4. Configuring your debug target

When you install and configure the software for a debug target, RealView Debugger uses the target device configuration file to determine the number and type of processors. RealView Debugger creates an appropriate endpoint connection for each processor. If you later change the processor configuration, RealView Debugger enables you to access the device configuration file to update the configuration accordingly.

In addition to the device configuration, you can configure additional features for your debug target using the RealView Debugger Connection Properties. To access the Connection Properties, select Target ? Connection Properties... from the main menu.

Note

You must disconnect from all targets before you configure your target hardware or the associated connection.

Target and connection configuration is not required for you to complete this tutorial. However, you might want to control the way a target processor starts when you connect. To do this, see Setting connect mode. Otherwise, continue with Working with memory.

If you want to learn more about customizing your targets and connections, see RealView Debugger v1.8 Target Configuration Guide. Also, see the device configuration software documentation for your debug target.
