16.3.1. What the configuration files contain

The configuration files that RealView Debugger stores in your home directory (see Defining the home directory) include the following files relating to this guide:

*.brd

Top-level board files. Normally this is rvdebug.brd. This file includes the filenames of the other configuration files. You change this file when you save settings in the Connection Properties window.

*.bcd

Files that contain configuration information for specific targets. By default, these files are used from the default settings directory, program_directory\etc. If you change a supplied file or you create your own, you are recommended to store them in your debugger home directory.

These files contain per-chip and per-board settings as named configurations. You might change this file when you save settings in the Connection Properties window.

There are other files that are stored in your debugger home directory. For more information about these files, see the appendix in RealView Debugger v1.6 Essentials Guide.
