To save the current trace information to a file:
Select Save Trace to File... from the File menu to display the List Selection dialog box.
Select the type of trace file that you want to save.
Click OK. The next step depends on the type of trace file you selected:
if you selected Compressed trace for specified source, continue at step 4
if you selected Decompressed trace (Output Only), continue at step 5
for any other type, continue at step 6.
If you selected Compressed trace for specified source, you are prompted to enter the ID of the trace source:
Enter the ID of the required trace source.
Click Set.
Continue at step 6.
If you selected Decompressed trace (Output Only), you are prompted to continue:
Click OK to continue.
Otherwise, click Cancel.
Continue at step 6.
Be aware that very large XML files can be created when saving decompressed trace.
A Save Trace to File dialog box is displayed.
Locate the directory where you want to save the trace file.
Specify a filename. The default filename extension depends on the file type you have selected.
Click Save.
