Compile your OS image with debug symbols enabled so that the debugger can find the data structures it requires for Halted System Debug (HSD). If the target is in Running System Debug (RSD) mode, this might not be required.

Install your OS plugins as described in Enabling OS support.

Create a new OS connection as described in Creating a new OS-aware connection.

Configure your OS-enabled connection as described in Configuring an OS-aware connection.
