2.8. Tailoring locale and CTYPE using C macros

The C macros are now deprecated and will be removed in the next release. The same functions can be tailored with the use of assembler macros. See Tailoring locale and CTYPE using assembler macros for more information.

This section describes the use of C macros for tailoring locale functions. Applications use locales when they display or process data that is dependent on the local language or region, for example character set, monetary symbols, decimal point, time, and date.

See the rt_locale.h include file for more information on locale-related functions.
