A.1.1 Building an EB Fixed Virtual Platform

How to build the EB1176 Fixed Virtual Platform.

  1. Start System Canvas for Fast Models.
  2. Click the Open button on the System Canvas toolbar.
  3. Navigate to the location of the EB1176 Fixed Virtual Platform project. This is %PVLIB_HOME%\examples\FVP_EB\Build_ARM1176\FVP_EB_ARM1176.sgproj. Click Open to load the project. By default, you generate a Release build of the model. To change to a Debug build, use the Select Active Project Configuration drop-down list on the System Canvas toolbar.
  4. Click the Build button on the System Canvas toolbar to build the model.
Depending on a preference setting, a system check might run.
  5. Click Proceed to start the build. Depending on the speed and processor loading of your computer, builds, particularly Release builds, can take several minutes to finish. The build generates an object:
    • Linux-BuildType-Compiler/cadi_system_Linux-BuildType-Compiler.so.
    • Windows-BuildType-Compiler\cadi_system_Windows-BuildType-Compiler.dll.
where BuildType is Debug or Release, and Compiler is the name of the compiler.

You can use the object with Model Shell, Model Debugger, and RealView Debugger.
