Compiler Diagnostic Messages
The compiler issues messages about potential portability problems
and other hazards. It is possible to:
Turn
off specific messages. For example, warnings can be turned off if
you are in the early stages of porting a program written in old-style
C. In general, however, it is better to check the code than to turn
off messages.
Change the severity of specific messages.
