8.12 Shutting down a Unix/Linux server
Use the command-line utility to stop a Unix/Linux floating license server.
To stop a Unix/Linux floating license server:
Avoid using kill -9 to terminate the floating license server daemons
because the processes might not end gracefully. This might cause problems on server restart.
If you must forcibly shut down a server, always stop lmgrd before
Change to the directory containing the floating license server software.
At the command prompt, enter:
lmutil lmdown -q -c
Specifies the fully qualified path name of the license file that you used when
you started the server.
