10.5 Inline assembly template modifiers
Template modifiers are characters that you can insert into the assembly string, between the
% character and the name or number of an operand reference. For example,
c is the template modifier, and
1 is the number of the operand reference. They change the way that the operand is printed in the string. This change is sometimes required so the operand is in the form that some instructions or directives expect.
