SYMPTOMS

I'm using C51 Version 5 and I've started comparing it to Version 6. When I compile my program and create an Intel HEX file, I notice differences in the resulting HEX file between Version 5 and Vesion 6. What would cause this?

CAUSE

The Version 6 tools offer 3 new optimizer levels that were not available in Version 5. Between the two versions a number of enhancements were added and a number of problems were corrected. This accounts for the differences you see in the HEX files that are generated.
