When I declare several large arrays with the "far" type, I get an "error C249: 'FDATA': SEGMENT TOO LARGE", even though no individual object is larger than 64k.
The size restriction on far data doesn't refer to individual objects. No "far" data segment may exceed 64k in size. In this context, a segment means all data in a given memory space, declared in a single source file.
You need to make sure the size of any segemnt doesn't exceed 64k. Sometimes this means you must declare each object in its own file.
