UART OR LIN DOES NOT WORK

QUESTION

When I received the board, jumper J2 was set to position ON. According to the manual, the UART driver should be disabled and the LIN driver should be enabled in this position. However, my application can communicate over the UART interface. Is there a mistake in the layout of the board?

ANSWER

The print on the MCB-XC866 Version 2 is wrong as regards jumper J2. The position Auto and ON is exchanged by mistake.

• If you want to use the UART interface only: Remove J2.
• If you want to use the LIN interface only: Set J2 to position Auto.
• If you want to use the UART or the LIN interface depending on the logic level of P1.5: Set J2 to position ON.
  Please be sure to initialize P1.5 as output to get a defined level at this pin.
