MEMORY DISPLAY WRONG DURING FLASH PROGRAMMING

Applies to: uVision Debugger

QUESTION

I have written a program that makes code memory modifications with In-Application Flash Programming (IAP). However, when I am executing this application I cannot see the modifications in the µVision Memory Window. I am using target debugging for testing the application and it appears that it works, but I cannot see the changes.

What can be wrong?

ANSWER

The µVision Debugger contains memory caching to speed-up the debugger performance. If you have memory caching enabled, µVision does not read the code memory contents from the target hardware. Instead a local PC memory cache is used.

To see the memory changes you may just disable the Cache options under Project — Debug — Target Driver Settings.
