How do I generate an imprecise abort on the ARM926EJS as part of a test case?

Applies to: ARM926EJ-S

Answer

You can't - ARM926EJS does not support imprecise aborts.

ARM926EJS can signal an abort on only those external accesses which are considered synchronous to the instruction stream, where the failing access may be precisely identified (i.e. precise abort). ARM926EJS is unable to signal an abort when the failed access is asynchronous to the instruction stream, as is the case for buffered writes or cache linefills (i.e. imprecise abort).

ARM10, ARM11 and later ARM processors do explicitly support imprecise aborts but ARM926EJS does not.
