Why do some examples in RVDS 4.1 fail to build?

Answer

When building some of the example projects in RVDS 4.1 from the Workbench, under Windows Vista or Windows 7, the following errors may occur:

These errors are a result of Windows 7 and Windows Vista not allowing the application write access to subdirectories of "Programs files", and instead redirect write attempts to a virtual file system location. The ARM Workbench does not currently support this functionality and as a result some references to created files will fail.

The following examples may be effected:

To workaround these issues, ensure that the "Copy projects into workspace" checkbox is selected on the "Import projects" dialog box when projects are imported into the ARM Workbench. 

The errors do not occur under Windows XP or Linux.
