What does internal fault 0x5c282c or 0x1ac98e mean when building Linux applications using armcc?

Answer

When builidng a Linux application using armcc, an internal fault might occur if you have the wrong GNU toolchain installed. For example:

armcc --arm_linux_configure –arm_linux_config_file=config.xml –configure_gcc="gcc file name and path"

Internal fault: [0x5c282c:410561]
Internal fault: [0x1ac98e:500090]

A suitable GNU/Linux targeted toolchain for ARM is available from the CodeSourcery website.
