Why do I get "Error code: LAUNCHER-11" when I start Eclipse/Workbench?

Applies to: RealView Development Suite (RVDS)

Answer

The error may be due to memory usage in Eclipse (a.k.a the Java HEAP). Eclipse's maximum heap size is set by the "-XmxN" option in launcher-win_32-pentium.ini (N is the heap size in bytes). For example, using "-Xmx768m" will set the maximum heap size to 768MB.

Choosing a lower value than what is currently set in launcher-win_32-pentium.ini often fixes the problem.

launcher-win_32-pentium.ini is available at the below locations:

Windows XP:        C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\ARM\ARM Workbench IDE\<version>

Windows 7:        C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\ARM\ARM Workbench IDE\<version>
