License checkouts might slow down due to searching for IBFS32.DLL

Applies to: RealView Development Suite (RVDS)

Answer

In some circumstances, RVDS floating license checkouts might slow down intermittently due to the FLEXnet licensing mechanism searching for a DLL file called IBFS32.DLL. The tips mentioned in the Knowledge Article Optimising license checkouts from a floating license server do not solve this problem.

The IBFS32.DLL file is a standard Windows DLL file that some older versions of FLEXnet made use of. It is expected to be installed in the C:Windows\system32 directory.

The IBFS32.DLL file can be found in the FLEXnet dongle drivers and some other Windows device drivers. If you encounter the above similar slow down problem, a workaround is to ensure that this DLL file is located at the C:Windows\system32 directory. You should be able to obtain the DLL file by installing the Audio Codecs or High Definition Audio Codecs from http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads.
