NO OUTPUT WHEN RUNNING PC-LINT

Applies to: PC-Lint

Answer

SYMPTOM

I am trying to use PC-Lint. When I click "Lint all C-Source files", in the Tools menu, I get the following in the "build output" window:

Running PC-Lint...
PC-lint for C/C++ (NT) Vers. 9.00d, Copyright Gimpel Software 1985-2009

CAUSE

Most often, this happens when PC-Lint cannot find the .lnt file, at the path you entered in the Configuration File: box, in the PC-Lint Options dialog.

RESOLUTION

Always use the ellipsis (...) button, next to the Configuration File: box, to select your .lnt file. That way you can confirm that the file exists, at the location you expect it.

You can find the default .lnt files at the following locations:

C51: C:\Keil\C51\BIN\CO-KC51.LNT
C166: C:\Keil\C166\BIN\CO-KC166.LNT
XC166: C:\Keil\C166\BIN\CO-KC166XC.LNT
MDK-ARM: C:\Keil\ARM\BIN\CO-RV.LNT

STATUS
