Fast Models gives flexibility in the way caches are modeled. They can be either register on functional models as described here.
However it is not recommended to model the L1 and L2 caches differently as this will not maintain the coherency of the system, causing unexpected (and unrealistic) errors to happen.
You need to keep L1-I, L1-D and L2 all "registers" models or all "functional" models to guarantee
