How do I build and run code for VFP?

Information on how to generate and debug code that carries out floating point operations using a Vector Floating Point (VFP) coprocessor, together with details of the VFP support code that will normally need to be installed on such systems, can be found in two places:

For ADS 1.2 / RVCT 1.2 users

Application Note 98, "VFP Support Code" provides the required information. This application note and associated code is also provided as part of a patch which can be found in the ADS 1.2 area of the Support Downloads pages. For RVCT 1.2 users these can be found in the examples directory of your tools installation. ADS1.2 and RVCT 1.2 users should also see the FAQ entry "Known issues with the ADS 1.2/RVCT 1.2 VFP Support Code".

For RVDS 2.0 / RVDS 2.1 users

Application Note 133, "Using VFP with RVDS", provides the required information. This supersedes Application Note 98 and the example code provided in the Examples subdirectory of your RVDS 2.0 / RVDS 2.1 installation directory.

For RVDS 2.2 / RVDS 3.x users

Application Note 133, "Using VFP with RVDS", provides the required information. This supersedes Application Note 98.  The example code provided in the Examples subdirectory of your RVDS 2.2 installation directory matches that of Application Note 133.
