What is the difference between "RealView Developer Kit for OKI" and "RealView Developer Kit for OKI Evaluation"?

Applies to: RealView Developer Kit (RVDK) for OKI

Answer

RVDK for OKI can be purchased in one of two forms...

In Evaluation form it is supplied without a license serial number and can be used "out of the box". After 1000 usages or 60 days (whichever is reached first), the Developer Kit Evaluation will default to a reduced functionality, i.e. a command-line debugger and the lowest level of compiler optimization. Note that the documentation for RVDK for OKI refers to 200 usages rather than 1000 - this is incorrect. A usage is classed as:

  • A successful compilation tools link.
  • A debugger connection to a target through the USB-based JTAG debug interface.
  • A conversion from compilation tools output to a format suitable for flash programming.

In full form, RVDK for OKI is supplied with a license serial number. This product will work 'out of the box' as per the evaluation version. However within the evaluation period the user is expected to request a full license for the kit It is also possible to upgrade an Evaluation version of RVDK for OKI to the full version. Please contact your supplier for details.
