ADS 1.1 AXD: Session file could not be loaded

Applies to: ARM Developer Suite (ADS)

Answer

When starting AXD from ADS 1.1 on Windows NT or Windows 2000, the following message may be displayed:

"The session file 'CWINNTProfilesyournamedefault-1-1-0-0.ses' could not
be loaded"

This is a known problem with ADS 1.1 and session files under Windows NT/2000 installations. This is fixed in ADS 1.2.

The session file functionality requires the current user to have "Backup files and directories" and "Restore files and directories" profile privileges enabled. These privileges are not normally given to standard users, they are given to administrators and Backup Operators.

The simplest workaround for ADS 1.1 is to ask your system administrator to grant you administrator privileges, because this will allow the session file to be updated as required.
