Can I connect to RVI over USB?

Applies to: RealView ICE and Trace (RVI / RVT)

Answer

In order to add support for USB conncections to RVI, you will need to have installed the host software and firmware from RVI 1.2 (or later).

In addition you should note that the version of RVD supplied with RVDS 2.1 and earlier is not compatible with RVI's USB support. You will therefore also have to have installed the version of RVD supplied with RVDS 2.1.1 (or later).

After installing the above software, when you connect your RVI hardware to your PC via USB for the first time, you will be prompted to install the USB driver. This can be found in the USBDrivers subdirectory of the RVI installation directory.

You should also note that connecting over USB is only supported on Windows.

To upgrade from earlier versions of RVDS and RVI, please see the RealView Development Tools - Upgrade Policy.
