TAP order when using manual configuration

Applies to: RealView ICE and Trace (RVI / RVT)

Answer

Multi-ICE and RVI number TAPs differently. Multi-ICE starts from TDI and makes the first device it encounters TAP0. RVI starts from TDO and makes the first device it encounters TAP0. So the order of devices is effectively reversed. Care therefore needs to be taken to reverse the order of the devices if you are generating a manual configuration for RVI based on a previous Multi-ICE manual configuration file.

The process of using manual configuration for RVI is discussed in Section 4.2.3 of the RVI User Guide.
