Why are the Evaluator-7T board registers not visible in RVD when using RealView ICE?

Applies to: Evaluator-7T, RealView ICE and Trace (RVI / RVT)

Answer

RealView ICE correctly identifies the Evaluator-7T board as using an ARM7TDMI based core. Unfortunately the description in the BCD file uses the manufacturers specific code KS32C50100. As these entries do not match the information contained in the Evaluator-7T Board Chip Definition (BCD) file is not displayed in RVD.

You can edit the BCD file to correct this as follows:

  • Open the Connection Properties window in RVD
  • In the Board/Chip Definitions list locate the entry for Eval7T
  • Open the CHIP=KS32C50100 folder and the Advanced Information subfolder
  • A folder called KS32C50100 should now be visible
  • Right-click and use rename to change the folder name to "ARM7TDMI"
  • Exit the Connection Properties window using Save and Close.
