Applies to: Multi-ICE
Multi-ICE is normally used to debug systems based on ARM cores. Multi-ICE provides a high-level interface called RDI, which is used by ARM and third-party debuggers to connect to and debug ARM cores.
However, Multi-ICE can also be accessed via a low-level interface called TAPOp. The TAPOp documentation can be found in the Multi-ICE installation folder if you have performed a full installation of the Multi-ICE software.
TAPOp is normally used for "easy tasks" like setting the main TAP controller of a chip or programming Flash devices in production via JTAG.
Using TAPOp requires a very good knowledge of the JTAG specification and the characteristics of the devices accessed, so we don't recommend customers to use it for complex tasks.
