Which ETM signals should I connect to top-level ASIC pins?

Applies to: ETM7, ETM9

Answer

Applies to: ETM7/ETM9

The signals which are required at the top-level are: TRACECLK, TRACEPKT, TRACESYNC, and PIPESTAT.

There are some control and configuration signals which can be read via JTAG and therefore are not required to be top-level signals. These are: SYSOPT, ETMEN, PORTSIZE, and PORTMODE.

If you are using the optional EXTIN and EXTOUT signals, may need to be connected to top-level pins, depending on how they are being driven.
