Why is the READY signal not sticky?

Applies to: AXI

Answer

The READY signal is not sticky so that it can be held high by default if needed, but can also be negated before a transfer occurs, for example if a device enters a low power state or if a multi-ported device has activity on another port that makes it unable to receive a transfer immediately.
