Does the EB work straight out of the box?

Before attaching the Core Tile to the system YOU MUST ensure that the FPGA image is correct for your Core Tile.  This is because the AHB and AXI buses use different pins, so an incorrect FPGA configuration may result in damaged boards. The FPGA images are included with the application notes on the supplied CD, use AN152 for MPCore or AN148 for ARM7TDMI, ARM926EJ-S and ARM1136JF-S.

To check the configuration you should carry out the following procedure:

  1. Set the yellow config switch (S1)  to the OFF position.
  2. Power on the board.
  3. Check the text displayed on the character LCD.

    If you need to change the FPGA image, use progcards to perform the programming. Please refer to the getting started section in the appropriate application note.
