Does the EB support USB 2.0 Hi-Speed?

Applies to: EB (Emulation Baseboard)

Answer

[Updated 24 October 2006]

The Emulation Baseboard (EB) includes a Philips ISP1761 chip that supports USB 2.0 Hi-Speed at 480M bits/second. However, please note:

  • We have not tested it at 480M bits/second, only 12M bits/second (Full Speed mode, previously known as USB 1.1).

  • EB bus bandwidth is not high enough for sustained 480M bits/second.

  • We do not supply the driver software. Please see this FAQ for details of where you can get it.

An alternative is to use a PCI USB card with our PCI backplane or a PC motherboard. We have not tested this solution so there may be interoperability issues. If you want to add a PCI card we cannot supply driver software for it.
