What is the difference between PL352 vs PL354? Can I use two PL352 instead of one PL354?

Applies to: PL352 SRAM NOR Flash Memory Controller, PL354 DUAL SRAM NOR Flash Memory Controller

Answer

PL354 has a single AXI port and two memory ports and PL352 has a single AXI port and a single memory port.

So, if you have two masters that both need high bandwidth access to different memories then having two PL352 controllers each with one AXI master and one memory could be more efficient than having both memories attached to a PL354 with arbitration on the masters. The cost would be a higher gate count. Though this depends on the application, PL354 would be more efficient than 2 x PL352 in most cases.
