Why does RVD fail to connect to or step my SecurCore Target?

Applies to: RealView ICE and Trace (RVI / RVT)

Answer

An issue has been identified when using older versions of RealView ICE (RVI) host software with SC100D and SC200D ARM targets which may prevent connection or single stepping using RVD.

This issue can be resolved by upgrading your RVI Host software to v3.0 or later.

If you have a RVDS version earlier than 4.0, you will need to either apply the necessary RVI patches or request a RVI CD from your local distributor or directly from ARM (orders@arm.com).  RVI patches can be found at https://silver.arm.com/browse/# by expanding the "Patches" section. Please note: You will need to log into ARM Silver before you can view the above link.

If you are using RVDS 4.0 or above, RVI versions later than v3.0 ship within the RVDS installation.
