VERSION 4.01 UPDATE PROBLEMS

Applies to: C166 C Compiler

Answer

QUESTION

I downloaded the C166 V4.01 update from the Keil web site. Now, at the end of the *.m66 file I see the following message:

******************************************************************************
* RESTRICTED VERSION WITH 1000H BYTE CODE SIZE LIMIT; USED: 0000H BYTE ( 0%) *
******************************************************************************

L166 RUN COMPLETE. 0 WARNING(S), 0 ERROR(S)

What does this mean? Do I have the full version or a demo?

ANSWER

You have the evaluation version.

To properly install the update from the web, you must enter your serial number when you run the SETUP program for the update. If you don't enter your serial number, the update program installs an evaluation version of the software.

To correct this problem, re-run the SETUP program and make sure you enter your serial number.
