SYMPTOMS

I downloaded the USB Hub device example code from Intel. When I build the project and look at the HEX file produced, it only contains one line of text! Since the source is over 40 pages in length, I know this isn't correct. What's happening?

CAUSE

The uVision project file H930FRMW that ships with the example code from Intel has a problem and the OH251 options need to be modified.

RESOLUTION

  1. In uVision, with the project file open, go to Options | OH251.
  2. Select "Intel HEX-386." Change the value for "Range to convert" to 0x004000-0x00FFFF.
  3. The options string at the bottom of the dialog should read "H386 RANGE(0x004000-0x0FFFF)".
  4. Once this is done, rebuild the project and you should note a much larger, and correct, HEX file ready to run with RISM.
