CORRUPTION OF DPTR WHEN USING MODP2

Applies to: C51 C Compiler

Answer

Information in this article applies to:

SYMPTOMS

I am using the MODP2 directive to enable dual data pointers, but one of the data pointers is corrupted on return from interrupt service routines. It seems to have had its high and low bytes swapped over. What is going on?

CAUSE

This is a bug in the C compiler which only affects the MODP2 directive, not the other dual data pointer directives.

RESOLUTION

You require a new version of the C compiler (v5.50e or better). See below for information on how to obtain this update.
