WARNING 8 (MODULE NAME EXPLICITLY REQUESTED FROM ...)

SYMPTOMS

When you link your program, the linker reports the following diagnostic:

WARNING L8: MODULE NAME EXPLICITLY REQUESTED FROM ANOTHER FILE MODULE

CAUSE

This warning is generated if you invoke BL51 using parameters similar to:

BL51  a1.obj,xyz.lib (A1).

In this case 'a1.obj' has the module name A1 (if generated without the A51 NAME directive, but the module name A1 is explicitly requested to be linked in from xyz.lib.

RESOLUTION

Change the name of the object module so there is no conflict in names.
