QUESTION

If I create a source file with a hyphen in the filename, I get the following error when I compile:

Fatal Error: Parsing Invoke-/#pragma-line unknown control

Also, if I put a hyphen in the project name, a hex file is not generated.

ANSWER

Unfortunately, hyphens in filenames and project names cause problems for our C51 tools. Hyphens in filenames must be avoided. Hyphens in project names do generate a successful build and OMF-51 file, however, the Hex file is not generated. The workaround is to rename your project.

Version 6 of the C51 tools, featuring uVision, fixes this limitation.
