QUESTION

We have retrieved your Y2K information from your web site and now we have a question concerning an older product that is still in use:

ANSWER

The only failure mode will be the incorrect date printed in the compiler, assembler and linker listing files. This does not affect the operation of the tools, nor does it affect the code generated. The listing files are provided purely for informational purposes.

The reason the incorrect date might be printed is because the tools obtain the date from the BIOS. If the BIOS is correct, then the date in the listing files will also be correct.
