QUESTION

What does the LARGE directive do?

ANSWER

The LARGE directive specifies that the compiler use the Large memory model. In the Large memory model, all variables and local data segments of functions and procedures reside in the external data memory (XDATA) of the 8051 system. The Large memory model accesses up to 64KBytes of external data memory.
