What does the SMALL directive do?
The SMALL directive specifies that the compiler use the small memory model. With the small memory model, all variables and local data segments of functions and procedures reside in the internal data memory (DATA) of the 8051 system. The small memory model allows very efficient access to data objects but is limited to 128 bytes of data space.
