2.9. Instrumentation resources, from ETMv3.3

Instrumentation resources are introduced in ETMv3.3, and provide a simple, low-overhead method of controlling tracing. This is based on:

The number of Instrumentation resources that an ETM provides is implementation defined:

Bits [15:13] of the ETMCCER specify the number of Instrumentation resources provided by the ETM implementation. See Configuration Code Extension Register, ETMCCER, ETMv3.1 and later.

In addition, ETMCR bit [24] controls the availability of Instrumentation resource programming. If this bit is set to 1, the Instrumentation resources can only be programmed when the processor is in a privileged mode. For more information see Main Control Register, ETMCR.
