RealView development boards
ARM documentation set for the RealView hardware platforms family of products, including RealView Versatile Baseboards (Cortex-A8, ARM1176, ARM11MPCore, and ARM926EJ-S), RealView Versatile Core Tiles, RealView logic tiles, and RealView Integrator boards, tiles, and core modules.
RealView Hardware Platforms are ideal systems for prototyping ARM-based products. They are suitable for architecture and CPU evaluation, hardware and software design, and ASIC emulation:
- The Platform Baseboards contain a processor and I/O devices. They include boards for the ARM926EJ-S, ARM1176JZ(F)-S, ARM11 MPCore, and Cortex-A8 processors. They can be expanded by adding Logic Tiles to implement custom peripherals or Core Tiles to create a multiprocessor system.
- The Emulation Baseboard contains I/O devices, but it does not include a processor. There are two tile expansion slots for Core Tiles or Logic Tiles. A Core Tile must be attached to provide the processor.
- The RealView Core Tiles include boards for the ARM7TDMI, ARM926EJ-S, ARM1136J(F)-S, ARM1156T2(F)-S, ARM1176JZ(F)-S, and ARM11 MPCore processor.
- The Logic Tiles contain an FPGA that can be programmed with a processor core or used to implement your own custom logic. Logic Tiles are available with either Xilinx Virtex-II, Virtex-4, or Virtex-5 FPGAs.
- Interface boards provide additional connectors or non-standard peripherals that are not available on the Platform or Emulation Baseboards. These include Interface Tile, Analyzer Tile, LCD Kits, and PCI Backplane. The IM-LT1 and IM-LT-3 Interface Modules enable Core Tiles or Logic Tiles to be used with the now retired Integrator development boards.
